Welcome to Ruth Shyu Music, where you can find a collection of Christian worship music and piano teaching pieces written with passion to give glory to God, and to support music education.
You will find both classical and contemporary style music here. I am a classically trained pianist with a degree from Berklee College of Music where I studied jazz piano and film scoring. These varied disciplines stretched my composition style widely. You will find this reflected in my portfolio of work.
My piano teaching pieces are written primarily for adult students. I strive to create easy-to-play pieces that are musical, artistic, and effective in skill building. This provides the student with technically accessible study material that is musically satisfying and artistically nurturing. I develop many of these pieces together with my teaching colleague Isabella Li, a renowned piano pedagogue at the New England Conservatory. You can find these carefully crafted pieces listed under three different “Elementary” levels on the Piano page.
